Price Custom Assets From Your Own Data Provider
What You Need
- Turbo Pro, or the 14-day free trial. On another plan, an asset you linked before keeps its prices, but they stop updating.
- A computer with Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Safari is not supported: it does not let a secure website talk to a program on your computer.
- An API key from EODHD, Twelve Data, Alpha Vantage or Finnhub, or a feed of your own: any
https://address that answers JSON or CSV.
1. Get the Turbobulls Connector
For Chrome and Edge. Nothing to keep running: it works whenever Turbobulls is open.
For Firefox, or any browser without the extension. A small program you start on your computer.
2. Add Your Key
3. Link a Custom Asset
How Prices Stay Up to Date
While Turbobulls is open on a computer with the Connector, it asks for the newest closes every three hours, at most twice a day for each asset. Refresh now in Settings > Custom data sources asks at once.
Your phone receives the prices with the next sync and shows when each asset was last updated, but it cannot fetch them itself. The prices are daily closes, not prices during the day.
Unlink an Asset
In Settings > Custom data sources, find the asset under Linked assets and choose Unlink. Its prices so far stay as your own, to edit by hand, and you can link it again from its Prices tab.
EODHD, Twelve Data, Alpha Vantage and Finnhub are named only to show which services the Connector can ask with your own key. Turbobulls is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them, and your use of each is under your own plan and its terms.
Open Source
Both the extension and the Connector app are open source, under the MIT license, so anyone can check what they do with a key: turbobulls-extension and turbobulls-bridge.
More on the feature: custom data sources.
