A pension fund, a small exchange, a feed you keep yourself: when Turbobulls has no price for an asset, the free Turbobulls Connector asks your own market-data provider with your own API key, and keeps the asset up to date. Your key stays on your device, and we receive only the prices, end-to-end encrypted.

How it works

How does an asset get its prices?

Three steps, once per asset. After that it keeps itself up to date.

Add your key to the Turbobulls Connector

A free browser extension for Chrome and Edge, or a small app for your computer if you use Firefox. Paste the key of the provider you pay for, and the Connector checks it with one small request.
  • Your key stays in the Connector, on your device, and goes only to your provider
  • For prices no provider carries, add any https address that answers JSON or CSV

Link a custom asset

Add a custom asset, choose From a custom data source on its Prices tab, and search your provider for the symbol. At least a year of daily prices comes in at once.

  • Pick another symbol or source later, or unlink it and keep the prices as your own

Prices keep themselves up to date

While Turbobulls is open on a computer with the Connector, it asks for the newest closes every few hours. Your phone gets them with the next sync.

EODHD, Twelve Data, Alpha Vantage and Finnhub are named only to show which services the Connector can ask with your own key. Turbobulls is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them, and your use of each is under your own plan and its terms.

Open source

Can I check what it does with my key?

Yes. Both pieces of the Connector are open source, under the MIT license.

Good to know

  • Daily closes, not prices during the day
  • Prices update while Turbobulls is open on a computer with the Connector
  • Phones receive the prices but cannot fetch them
  • Safari is not supported
