Turbobulls vs Capitally
An unusual comparison: both encrypt on your device and neither connects to your broker. So the usual privacy argument does not decide it. Scope and pricing do.
14 days of everything · Then a permanent free plan · Nothing deleted, export always included
Turbobulls if you want portfolio, dividends, spending and net worth in one encrypted place, and a free plan that never expires.
Capitally if you hold stock options or private equity, or you want the long historical windows it sells by tier.
The Wealth Command Center: portfolio, cash flow and net worth on one screen. Demo data.
Which one fits you?
Three questions. We will say so when the answer is Capitally.
Answer the three questions and a recommendation appears here.
Side by side
Based on each platform's public documentation as of August 2026. The Turbobulls column describes Turbo Pro, the plan that covers both sides; the free plan is capped and keeps a working slice of each paid section.
Capitally may have changed since this was compiled. Its own pricing and documentation pages are the authoritative source.
What the difference looks like
Four screens from the app, on demo data. The demo is read-only and needs no signup.
Spending sits next to the portfolio
Income, expenses, savings rate and real cash flow, in the same encrypted account as your holdings. This is the widest gap between the two products: we did not find personal expense tracking or budgeting in Capitally's public materials.
ROI, MWR and TWR, net of everything
Return on investment, money-weighted and time-weighted return, net of fees and taxes, with FX applied on the trade date. Return on investment, money-weighted and time-weighted return are all on every plan; the realized-versus-unrealized and capital-versus-currency splits are on Investing Pro or Turbo Pro.
Measured against something real
Compare against any ETF, stock or basket you add: one benchmark on free, as many as you like on Investing Pro or Turbo Pro. Activity markers show which trades moved the line.
Twelve metrics, four of them free
Free keeps wealth velocity, CAGR, time-weighted return and portfolio share of net worth. The other eight, including the Sharpe ratio, maximum drawdown and return volatility, open on Investing Pro or Turbo Pro.
The long version
Everything behind the table, one topic at a time.
Two different approaches to portfolio tracking
Capitally and Turbobulls are built on the same privacy architecture, which makes this an unusual comparison: the line that usually separates portfolio trackers does not apply. Both encrypt on the device, and neither connects to a broker.
Capitally is operated by CAPITALLY p.s.a. of Warsaw, Poland. Its public materials describe on-device encryption using AES-GCM with a key derived from the user's password, servers that hold only ciphertext, EU data centres, and a deliberate decision not to use a bank or broker aggregator. Data enters by CSV, Excel, paste or manual entry.
Turbobulls is operated by GXG TECHSOFT SRL of Bucharest, Romania. It shares both the encryption model and the refusal to aggregate, but covers more ground: spending, budgeting, salary and net worth sit alongside the portfolio, and a free plan that never expires sits beneath the paid ones. The substantive differences are scope and pricing.
Where each one is weaker
No tool wins everywhere. This is the part most comparison pages leave out.
- No dedicated handling for stock options or private equity
- No scenario modelling, and no live broker sync
- The free plan is genuinely capped: 10 holdings, 3 accounts, 2 brokers
- Paying for one side leaves the other at free-plan depth, so the whole picture means Turbo Pro
- Breadth you do not need is still breadth you scroll past
- No personal expenses, budgeting or salary tracking described
- No permanent free plan under the trial, though data stays available for six months after one ends
- No dedicated dividend calendar found in public materials
- Depth of price history is sold by tier
Tiers, caps and history depth were re-checked in August 2026. The encryption and dividend claims are from the earlier review. Capitally’s own documentation is the authority.
